Legacy Trait

I was planning on starting a new legacy in anticipation of the Pets expansion pack (my graphics card is already struggling so it'll be a while before I can get it, but I'm still looking forward). I wanted to use a legacy trait that every member born into the family has, but I'm hard-pressed to pick one out. A lot of the traits are fun, but in moderation, and I like my multi-generational Sim families to be pretty diverse. I could pick a skill-related trait but I think I'd get bored after a while.

Has anyone done a legacy with a family trait? Do they get boring, or do you find a way to keep things interesting?

Sims 3 Generations

1 week until Sims 3 Generations, got mine pre-ordered!

The Sims 3 community on twitter & facebook has really been pushing the Legacy Challenger. I've never done one before so when I get my pre-order I'm actually going to try one. You all want to join me?

The rules are as follows )

Household size and importing to CAS questions

1. Is there a cheat code to increase household size above 8?

2. I have sims in an existing household and would like to put them in my premade sim bin in CAS. Is there a way to do this without going through the Exchange? It just feels awkward to show them to the whole world when all I want to do is pop them back into CAS and play with sliders some more. ^^;

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Not so Simple Sims 3 Legacy Challenge!

Eeep! I've been sidetracked! Right now I'm working on a really thorough TS3 legacy challenge. I'm trying make it as enjoyable and awesome as the TS2 Legacy Challenge. Since there isn't a legacy challenge that I've found interesting or challenging enough (even if momentarily fun), I decided to create one myself; Involving all expansions packs, mini challenges, bonuses and so on. However, I do require some help. I need people to help me fill in the gaps. Sadly, I don't own all the expansion packs yet. Only Ambitions. I have much done regrading the Base Game and Ambitions. Buuut, it's still not completed. ::sighs and rubs my eyes:: So please...I think two people will do. You will be accredited for your assistance and contributions to the legacy Challenge. Keep in mind that communication is very important! :3 The better the communication, the faster we can work and the sooner the legacy can be published for our simmers!

Lifespan Options

I'm getting a new computer, which means pretty soon I'll be back to playing TS3 full time. Something that interests me, but that I've never had a chance to test out: I know there's an option to change the lifespans of Sims, and I've always played with the ~90 days one. My question is, can you have different lifespan settings for different neighborhoods?

Late Night

So, does anyone have Late Night? I've been looking around for reviews, but they don't mention anything about the new traits. Did they end up removing them?

Dream Traits

I've been thinking of traits I wish there were in TS3. Some of them are little, weird ones, like "Anti-Angler" (or somesuch). If you can have Can't Stand Art, who hates it when people talk about art, and Vegetarian, who throws up when they eat meat, then you can have a fish-hating sim. I think Nocturnal/Diurnal would be fun, too.

The trait I'd most like is Shy. They originally rejected it based on it being too close to Loner, but the way I see it, it should be totally different. Shy sims would hate being around strangers, but would get a mood boost from being around close friends. They'd have a harder time making new friends, but the friends they did make would last. Instead of rolling wishes to socialize with people they just met, they'd want to talk to their closest friends, and do things like call them up autonomously.

Expansion Pack to Award-winning Game The Sims 3 Allows Players to Become Fearless Heroes and Ace Entrepreneurs

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 4, 2010 –The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced that The Sims™ 3 Ambitions Expansion pack* is in development and will launch in June 2010. As the second expansion pack to The Sims 3, the best-selling PC game of 2009**, The Sims 3 Ambitions allows players to pursue a variety of exciting paths and careers in their Sims’ lives that in turn affect their overall gameplay experience and neighbourhood. While on the job, the player has direct control over their Sims’ work and can choose how to spend their days. Opt to make house calls and save lives as a doctor or choose the devious route and test experimental medicine on patients; be the hero firefighter tackling raging infernos or smashing everything in sight at the victim’s home with an axe; or take a shot at solving cases as an investigator, nicely convincing sources to divulge secrets or roughing up perpetrators in a dark alley to get information.

“The variety of careers to choose from is unmatched and we’ve never given players the opportunity to follow their Sims to work and affect their actions on the job,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio at EA. “The Sims 3 Ambitions changes that. Players’ actions at work now directly affect their lives, community and neighbours and become an extremely important part of how the game is played.”

Players can now experience some of the most exciting and varied jobs. In The Sims 3 Ambitions, players can choose to hunt down vengeful spirits as the ghost hunter, invent brilliant and potentially destructive gadgets as an inventor, craft glorious masterpieces as a sculptor, and solve riveting cases by any means necessary as an investigator with dozens of cases to solve and numerous clues to find. Additionally, players will be able to change the look and feel of their town by becoming an architect and directly affecting the neighbourhood around them leveraging Build and Buy mode. The stylist career and new tattoo system allow players to make over their Sim neighbours in fashionable or catastrophic ways. For the first time, players will be in charge of how their Sims’ career progresses and decide if they will work for good or evil, pursue creative endeavours or technical affairs, climb to the top quickly, or be a slacker. The future of a Sims’ success or failure is entirely in the hands of the player.

The Sims 3 Ambitions will also be available for feature phones, iPhone and iPod touch in late 2010 from EA Mobile™. These versions will have customized mobile gameplay features which will be revealed in the coming months and will not require a base game to play. For information on carrier availability and pricing for all EA Mobile games, please visit www.eamobile.com.

For more information about The Sims 3 Ambitions or The Sims 3, please visit www.TheSims3.com. Developed by The Sims Studio, The Sims 3 Ambitions for PC/Mac has not yet been rated by the ESRB. To download artwork, please visit www.info.ea.com.

Greetings!

Hey everybody! Sorry for the lack of posts, with Christmas just passing I was out of town for 3 weeks and truth be told I haven't played the game in a bit. I had ordered an Alienware computer but Dell is experiencing delays in getting them shipped. My girls still play Sims 2 (cause it's on their computer, Sims 3 is on mine).

I wonder if anybody could point me in the right direction. For World Adventures I did a digital download, how does that work installing it when I get my new computer, since there is no CD I could just install. Does anybody know or point me to where I can find out?

CAW Worlds

So, since Create-a-World came out I've seen probably a few dozen new worlds of varying quality, but I've yet to see a world up for download that wasn't green and lush. I desperately want an arid desert world in my repertoire, and I can't find one anywhere. Even trying to build a basic one for myself isn't an option, because I can't seem to operate CAW for pants. Every time I tried, I couldn't even put down a main road to start from.

Has anyone seen a desert world available for download? Is anyone planning on making one?
