So.. how will you start playing

Imagine the following...

It's finally here. The packages gleams green in your hand and you are overcome with a feeling of giddiness, joy and overwhelming well-being.

You unwrap the wrap like a kid unwrapping a Christmas gift, pop open the DVD Box and there, gleaming in front of you is IT, your very own copy of Sims 3!

You install it! Waiting impatiently for it to install, amusing yourself the best you can whilst secretly screaming at your computer "FINISH ALREADY! I MUST PLAY!"

Finally, it indicates it's installed!!!

You start the game!!

Now what?

Now I dive right in. I may have to play the Bachelors first, or the Goths. Let's first get a feel for how the game mechanics before I worry too much about creating my own sim or house. and anyways, I need to make sure Bella and Morty get together. It's canon!

You know I've never been one to play already made in-game sims before. I'll have my Sims marry one then I'll play them that way...

I'll be making a generic Sim to test everything out with. I did the same thing with Sims 2, just went into CAS, played with all the new customization stuff an then dove in and tried out everything without having to worry about actually accomplishing anything. In a few days when I feel like I've figured out the weaknesses and strengths of the game, I'll make a Sim to start a new Legacy. :)

Create a sim, of course! That's the most fun part at the beginning. Give it a ridiculous name and dress is up so it's ultra flamboyant and then through it into the world to see how it does :)

I'll do what I always do with a new sims game and load up one of the EA created families to look at the new content. Play around with the sims for a little while until I have a better feel for the game. Thats when I go make my own sim and set some basic goals. I usually like to make a bachelor/bachelorette and try to get them married as a first goal.

If you're me, you'll make your first sim, spend six hours getting her happily married off and preggers, then you'll go play another house for a few sim days and come back to discover that THEY DONT SAVE WHILE YOU ARE GONE, THEY KEEP GOING.

Then you will uninstall the game in disgust and go back to TS2 where you are happy.
