Sadly it's only for North America.
NOTE: This contest is only for those players and fans in North America ONLY
DEADLINE: Friday, May 15, 2009 before midnight of Saturday May 16, 2009 (US Central Standard time)
Prize for winners include:
- The Sims 3 for PC or MAC
- 10$ SimPoints to Shop Online at The Sims 3 store
- Exclusive Datarock Music Track
- Exclusive Datarock Poster
Contest Guidelines and Rules:
CONTEST #1 - 3 winners!
Guidelines
1. Simmers must create an imaginative storyline in context with The Sims 3. You must create characters, events, settings, etc. We want to see how you play your game, with character interactions, development, actions and more. Every player starts the Sims 2 with ideas about how they're going to better their home or get their sim promoted to military captain or whatever! We want to hear your story using 'The Sims 3' as your guideline. Or perhaps a storyline you used and played in The Sims 2.
2. Your goal is to write a story just as you would in your English Rhetoric class, with proper punctuation (something many online folks have lost track of!). Be creative in your story, this seems like a fairly easy contest but creativity will be huge on your scoring levels and therefore deciding who wins the contest.
3. Remember, this story can be an adventure you want to have with your new game to be released June 2.
4. Impress the judges with something out of the ordinary, or perhaps get very involved in the ordinary, the choice is up to you!
5. Included in your submission sent to (submissions[at]thesims3world.com) should be:
* your story (minimum of 600 words, maximum of 2200)
* information about yourself, and your relationship, history, etc. with the simming community
* your website (if you have one or are very active at one) - this is not necessary
* that's it! the story you formulate will be the ultimate deciding factor for 3 of the games given as prizes.
Rules
1. Only Players from North America are eligible to win prizes, however everyone is welcome to enter.
2. Your story must be kept appropriate. Absolutely no racism, religion, gang affiliation, illegal activity (this does not include your sim being a thief in your story, etc.)
3. You must enter no later than 11:59 pm of May 15, 2009 (US - Mexico City, Chicago; Central Standard time)
4. You can not plagiarize! If you copy a story from the internet or a book, The Sims 3 World will know about it because we have filters to check for such things for this contest. If you are caught cheating, you will be ineligible for this contest and any future contests held by this website
5. Judges will be the administration of The Sims 3 World and some other respected senior members of the simming community.
6. Your story will be scored on the following:
* grammar, punctuation and spelling
* plot and series of events
* NOT on creativity, be adventurous! not everything in your story has to make perfect sense.
* relationship with The Sims 3 and the simming community
+ this means you wouldn't drive to CVS for some medicine, you would drive to Simming Pills Plus for your over the counter meds. Using that as an example, remember you are sims and that your world is the world of the sims.
* good luck :)
CONTEST #2 - 2 winners!
Guidelines
1. We can't forget about our artists out there. So we have decided to offer two of the five games to someone who can work magic with computer or drawn art!
2. If you are more of an artist and less of a story writer, this is your contest.
3. Your art should be Sims 3 related as much as possible, however simming in general is still acceptable.
4. Be creative with this fan art, creativity will be the main thing judged in this contest.
5. Examples of things you could do: homes, sims, sims with plumbobs, landscapes of your sims homes, sims with friends, etc. keep it simmy!
6. Included in your submission sent to
(submissions[at]thesims3world.com) should be:
* fan art, either computer generated or drawn on paper and submitted
* subject titled: fan art submission
* and a brief description of your artwork
