[personal profile] chasy posting in [community profile] thesims3
Hello everyone! I just joined the community today and thought I'd share a couple of houses I made. The pics I uploaded to imageshack.us are 1024x768 so rather than post them behind a cut, I'm just posting the links to each image...

(NOTE: This is actually one image but I just realized that because of the white space, it looks like two. I promise I didn't break the community rules on my first post! >_<)

Please, please don't re-distribute these! Absolutely feel free to download them to your own game and use them however you like - but please ask me if you want to make changes and then upload them as your own work. (Depending on the changes made, I won't object. But if you change the color of the house or something, that does not constitute significant enough change to go around posting it as your work. ;-P)

Also, I would love to hear what you all think! NICELY spoken, constructive criticism is appreciated. But don't be mean. >_>

My name is Chasy and I've been with Dreamwidth since pretty much the beginning. I haven't contributed a whole lot - mostly, I was just a little beta tester person. :-P But it's been a blast watching the whole thing evolve.

I'm 28, happily married, and a stay-at-home mom to our 18 month old daughter (who I call 'littlePerson'). I love playing the Sims 3 - it's like, my escape from real life. Normally, I read books for that, but while I'm infatuated with Sims, I don't do a whole lot of reading. ;)

I love to meet people. I'm fairly easy-going (I think...) and I love to laugh. Pretty much, if you can make me laugh, I will love you forever. I am addicted to laughing. :-P Probably comes from having a depressive nature (a common side effect of being creative) - laughter really is the best medicine.

Ummm...I guess that's all. I'm wicked sleepy right now so I can't really think straight. LOL

ETA: My tags don't seem to be showing up...is anyone else seeing them?

I see no tags, either, but in this community, members can only add existing tags. So if you used a tag that's not already in use in the community, you'll have to ask a maintainer to create the tag first (or to tag this entry with it, which will also create the tag).

When you go to edit the tags of this entry, you'll see the ones that are available.

I'd offer to add the tag, but I don't know how. :/

Ideas?

On http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/tags.bml, choose "thesims3" from the drop-down list next to "Work as account:" and click "Switch".

Then you should be able to add new tags by entering them into the box underneath the list of existing tags (separated by commas) and clicking on the "[+]" button next to that box.

Alternatively, to add a tag to an entry, you can click on the "edit tags" button (a little tag, in this style) underneath the entry (where the previous/next entry, add to memories, and track/untrack this icons are). (The link for this entry is http://www.dreamwidth.org/edittags.bml?journal=thesims3&itemid=10907.)

You can pick entries from the box or make up one or more of your own; adding a new tag to the entry will also create the tag and make it available to members from then on (to tag future posts or existing ones).

are ALL communities limited that way?

As [personal profile] melanie said, the default is that only administrators can create new tags and that members can add existing tags to entries.

You can change those settings for a community that you administer, if you want, at http://www.dreamwidth.org/manage/tags.bml -- select your community name from the "Work as account" drop-down list and click "Switch" first. Then you can choose, for example, to let all members create new tags and remove tags from entries.

Try the tags now, I had to set the permissions on tag levels. I forget about setting the permissions for tags in communities. I now have it set to where members can create new tags.

The default is where members can use existing tags but only admin's can create tags until the admin/mod goes in and changes it.
