My Release Day
Jun. 2nd, 2009 07:21 ammelanieWell I got a notification yesterday from Amazon that my order was shipping! I figured they were going to do overnight shipping. Of course I got the email on my iTouch while sitting at my youngest daughter's school watching a talent show (yea for mooching off school network) so I had to wait til I got home to check.
As of this moment it has left Austin (which is an hour away from me). Can't you see I'm stalking the tracking website?
I plan to leave work an hour early so I can get home and play! The only reason I don't leave earlier than that or just take off is cause I'd have to come back to towns to pick my daughter up from school... I'm just too lazy and the price of gas is getting to be too much so I'll just pick her up after school gets out.
Last night was trying to get my TV hooked up to the computer, but sadly my computer didn't want to recognize my old TV. But the good thing was I got to tweak my video card settings for better quality so hopefully my Sims 3 will look pristine!!
Fell free to post images of your Sims but remember to not make the initial image too big and more than one place the other images behind a cut!

The plumbob is pretty neat!!
Though I haven't seen where we get $10 worth of SimPoints (other than registering) yet.
Warning: There apparently is a problem for some redeeming SimPoints x_x

Why I Have Already Uninstalled The Sims 3
Jun. 2nd, 2009 07:48 pmrainneI do not care for uninterruptable Legacy-style play. I get bored with only one family for ages and ages, and I want to play other families.
But when I leave a family happily lounging about on the second day of pregnancy only to return to find that the unborn child is now a TODDLER that I didn't get to name, see born, or ANYTHING, that makes me ANGRY.
After six hours of gameplay, I have uninstalled the sims 3, and I will not be reinstalling it.
Also, be aware, if you bought the digital download from the EA store, it has SecuROM malware DRM on it. Also, there is some evidence that the Download Manager which installs with the disk version may also have SecuROM on it.
Thanks for nothing, EA.
(Oh, there are other reasons, too. Like the unintuitive menus; the uniformly ugly hairstyles for men; the fact that sim customization is not only not as good as we were led to believe, but also not even as good as TS2; the inability to create custom neighborhoods... but coming back to that family to find that child already born was the straw that broke this camel's back.)
